RCQ attend ABS East in Miami

RCQ's North America Lead, Greg McGinnigle was invited to attend the ABS East Conference in Miami, alongside over 5000 other delegates. The annual event, which brings together leaders from the Structured Finance space, explored the latest trends and developments in the industry and hosted their first ever Private Credit Summit at the start of the event.  

Greg came across a whole host of direct lenders and private equity firms, eager to expand their Private Credit and Alternative Credit strategies. Discussions included:

• Private Credit continues to boom as several new players are set to enter this market
• Banks are still trying to find their feet after a hectic 18 months and team sizes are set to remain tight over the next 12 months
• Consumer ABS issuers continue to show strong signs of resiliency despite the higher interest rate environment
• Esoterics and spec fin have struggled but there remains strong interest from investors

Greg commented: "It was a jam-packed conference, so I got see lots of friendly faces. There was a positive sentiment around hiring and lots of optimism from those I spoke with. Although there is probably not any short term relief, the uptake for growth in the coming 6 - 12 months appears strong”.
